How do I highlight text in a document?

Highlight text by using the easy-to-use highlight tool or the text tools.

HIGHLIGHT TOOL

Method One: 

1. Select the Highlight option on the toolbar.
   
2. Choose between Text Highlight or Freehand Highlight. 
   1. Text Highlight: automatically recognizes text, and highlights them neatly.
   2. Freehand Highlight: follows the way your cursor is dragged. This works well with scanned images.
3. Select your desired color from the menu button.
   
   
   
4. Drag your cursor along the text you want to highlight.
   
   

Method Two: 

1. Click the Select option on the toolbar.

2. Drag the cursor over your selected text and select either the Highlight, Underline, Squiggly, or Strikeout option in the toolbar that appears underneath.

UNDERLINE TOOL

Method One: 

1. Select the Underline (text tools) option on the toolbar.
   
2. Select the text tool you want:
   • Underline
   • Squiggly underline
   • Strikeout
     
     
3. Drag your cursor along the text you want to highlight with an underline, squiggly, or strikeout. (See examples below.)

Method Two: 

1. Click the Select option on the toolbar.

2. Drag the cursor over your selected text and select either the Highlight, Underline, Squiggly, or Strikeout option in the toolbar that appears underneath.

Edit your highlight:

1. Click on your highlight. A toolbar and two blue end dots appear.
   
2. Drag the blue end dots to adjust (add/remove) the highlighted text.
3. Use the toolbar to comment, change the style (color/opacity), delete, or hyperlink the highlight.  

Note: You can easily view, navigate to, and comment on all highlighted sections added to a document by opening the Panel and selecting the Notes section.

• Click on a listed highlight in the Panel to add a comment to the highlight.
• Click on a listed highlight in the Panel, then click the three dots that appear on the right to Edit (add a comment), Delete (deleting it in the panel will also delete it from the document), or Export it (will automatically download as a text file).
  

Tip: You can select the Highlight and other text tools using keyboard shortcuts.
