By integrating with Slack, Lumin enables users to receive notifications effortlessly within Slack, eliminating the need to check separate emails or their Lumin account.

Install Lumin in Slack
- Click here to install Lumin in Slack.
- Click Add to Slack.
- Review the permission access and click Allow.
- Confirm the integration by clicking Allow Access again.
Once the installation process is finished, you will be automatically redirected to the Lumin app within Slack.
Custom notifications
In the Lumin app in Slack, click Notification settings.
You may choose to receive a Slack notification when:
- someone shares a document with you,
- someone invites you to join a Circle, and
- someone adds you to a Team
Untick the box of the notifications you'd like to turn off and then select Save.

How to edit a file
- Once the app is installed, add Lumin into a channel by typing @Lumin then press enter.
- Then, select Invite Them.
- Locate the document you want to edit, click More actions, then click Edit with Lumin.
- Then click Edit file.
Next, the file will automatically open in your Lumin account on your web browser.
How to use slash commands
You can use the slash command in Slack to perform quick actions on the Lumin app.
User /lumin
or /lumin help
to list out all the slash commands you can use in Lumin
Use the /lumin notifications
to configure your notification preferences.
Uninstalling the app
In Slack, click Configuration then, in the configuration settings tab, click Remove app.
