Introducing seat-based pricing

Learn how Lumin's seat-based pricing model works, how license management operates across Workspaces, and how to add or remove seats to scale your team efficiently.

What's changing

Lumin is introducing seat-based plans. Instead of paying for a number of documents each month, you pay for the people on your team who need editing tools.

With seat-based pricing:

  • No monthly document limits. You no longer need to track how many documents you've completed.

  • Lumin PDF, Lumin Sign and AgreementGen in one plan. eSignatures are included, so there's no separate Sign subscription.

  • One subscription per workspace. Your invoice shows one line for each seat type, so it's easy to see what you're paying for.

  • Mix and match seats. Give each person the tools they need, and add free Viewer seats for anyone who only needs to view and review.

Seat types

Each person in your workspace has a seat, and the seat decides which tools they can use. A seat gives the same tools on every plan.

Seat

Best for

What's included

Viewer (free)

People who mainly read and review

View and comment, plus basic tools on your own documents

Collab

People who edit PDFs regularly

Every Lumin PDF tool, such as editing text, redaction, OCR and page tools

Full

People who edit and send agreements for signature

Everything in Collab, plus unlimited Lumin Sign sending and a Certificate of completion

A paid workspace needs at least one Full seat. After that, you can add Collab and Viewer seats in any combination.

Inviting people. Everyone you invite joins on a Viewer seat. If they need more tools, a workspace Admin can assign them a paid seat (Collab or Full), or they can request one from inside Lumin. If your Workspace has a spare paid seat, the request is filled straight away.

Workspace plans

Your Workspace plan controls admin and security settings. It doesn't change anyone's editing tools; that's what seats are for.

Plan

What it adds

Free

Basic PDF tools for everyone, 5 documents sent for signature per month (shared across the workspace), and AgreementGen

Plus

Workspace and member usage insights, and full control over your associated domain

Business

Everything in Plus, plus premium security controls such as enforcing sign-in with Google, and control over who can join and who can invite

A gradual rollout

We're releasing seat-based pricing in stages so we can make sure everything works smoothly. While this happens, you and your colleagues may see different prices or plan options in Lumin. Both are correct, and nothing is wrong with your account.

Already on a paid plan? Nothing changes for you. You keep your current plan, price and features, including your document allowance. You don't need to do anything, and we won't move you to a new plan without letting you know first.

FAQ's

Why does my colleague see a different price?

  • We're rolling out new pricing in stages. Both prices are correct.

Is my price going up?

  • Not if you're already on a paid plan. Your current subscription stays the same.

Do Viewer seats cost anything?

  • No. Viewer seats are free on every plan.

What's the difference between Collab and Full?

  • Both include every Lumin PDF tool. Full also lets you send documents for signature with Lumin Sign.

How do I add seats?

  • A workspace Owner or Admin can add seats in your workspace billing settings, then assign them to people.

I was given a new seat, but nothing changed.

  • Reload the page. Your new tools will appear once Lumin refreshes.

Can I try seat-based pricing for free?

  • If your workspace has never had a paid plan or trial, you can start a 7-day free trial with Full seats. Each workspace can have one free trial.
