How do I delete my Lumin account?

To delete your Lumin account, log in using the web browser and follow these steps.

Deletion notes

Before completing the deactivation of your account, please note:

  • Deleting an account also deletes all your team chats.

  • Before deleting your account, back up your personal files to a location outside Lumin and notify your team so they can save any files they need.

  • If you have a Lumin Sign account and have signed in using your Google account in both Lumin and Lumin Sign, both accounts will be deleted.- Free accounts remain active at no cost unless manually upgraded to a paid plan.

  • Once deleted, your data and documents cannot be recovered. Ensure you download any important files before proceeding.

To delete your account

  1. Log in to your account: Access your Lumin account through the web browser.

  2. Navigate to profile settings:

    • Click on your profile icon located at the top-right corner of the homepage.

    • Select Profile from the dropdown menu.

  3. Initiate account deletion:

    • Under the Account section, click on Delete my account.

    • Follow the on-screen prompts to confirm your request. This may include typing the word DELETE in all capital letters.

  4. Confirm deletion: Once confirmed, your account and all associated data will be permanently deleted.

After you confirm your account deletion, your account and all data stored in Lumin (and Lumin Sign) will be deleted immediately. This includes any files in Lumin Sign if it shares the same email address. Be sure to download any important files before initiating the deletion process.

NOTE: If you are the owner of a Workspace and/or a Space with more than 1 member, the ownership will be transferred to a random member, and an email notifying them of this change will be sent to the new owner.


FAQs

Do I need to notify support to delete my account?

  • In most cases, you can delete your account through the profile settings. However, if you encounter any issues or prefer assistance, you can notify the support team to process the deletion.

Can I delete my account without saving my files?

  • Yes, you can delete your account without downloading the files. Doing this will delete the files saved in your Lumin account. Confirm this preference during the deletion process.

What happens to my documents if I don’t delete my account?

  • If you choose not to delete your account, your documents will remain stored in your account. Free accounts will not incur any charges unless upgraded. Inform your team members to save any important files before deletion to avoid data loss.

  • On a Free account, files stored in Lumin cannot be opened after 12 months without upgrading to a paid plan.
